July 5, 2006: Opposition of bullet proof wall around structure of Babri Masjid
July 25, 2006: Meeting with Home Minister Shivraj Patel on the issue of bullet proof wall around disputed Babri Masjid premises and apprising him of concerns of Muslim community about the same.
August 20, 21: Historic Ulama Conference, as an attempt to denounce brandishing of Muslims as terrorists and Madrasas as factories of terrorism, participated by Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and other political leaders besides hundreds of Ulama all across the country.
October 16, 2006: Press statement denouncing brazen attempt of RSS to call Darul Uloom As hub of terror.
November 27, 2006: He was detained in Tihar Jail for 14 days for an alleged violation of law by him gheraoing the PM house in 2002 as a part of “save the nation and community movement.
March 2, 2007: He received a threat letter prime fascia written by a member of Bajrag Dal threatening his assassination for his active movement against terrorism.

April 23, 24 2007: Fida-e Millat Seminar to commemorate Late Maulana Asa’d Madani, where various aspects of his life discussed and several articles on his life were read.

April 15, 2008: Delegation of Jamiat Ulama-i- Hind Meeting with Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh demanding that the harassment of Muslim community on the pretext of terrorism must be forthwith stopped
May 31 2008: Anti terrorism global peace conference, wherein fatwa of Darul Uloom Deoband against terrorism was read. The fatwa was secured by him (Maulana Mahmood Madani) denounced terrorism and declared it the most inhuman crime. People were taken oath of allegiance to abide by fatwa.
After graduation from Darul Uloom Deoband in 1992 he took to business for fulfillment of his economic needs but this didn’t deter him from devoting full time and energy to social and political activities. He started his political career by joining Samajwadi Party of which he soon became All India National Secretary and central Council member. He was elected to Rajya Sabha form U.P in March 2006 and at present he is a Sitting member. His term will end in April 2012.

November, 8,9, 2008: 29the general session of Jamiat Ulama-i- Hind at Nizam College Hyderabad where along with several issues, the issue of terrorism was discussed and again fatwa against terrorism was read out and oath of allegiance was taken. The session also passed resolution demanding reservation for Muslims etc.
December 8, 2008: Held peace rally against terrorism in Delhi.
January 27, 2009: A delegation led by Maulana Mahmood Madani called on Defence Minister A.K. Antoney and warned him against miscalculation of importance of spotting beard in Islam by Union government and asserted that beard was religious issue, therefore it should have been left for Muslim ulama to decide its religious position .
January 31, 2009: Anti terrorism global peace conference held at palace ground Bangalore where once again oath of allegiance was taken to uproot terrorism.
Feb 14 2009: Anti terrorism global peace conference was organized at Azad maidan Mumbai. The conference was held at a time when terror phobia was at height in Mumbai owing to recent 26/11 terror strike at Taj Hotel. In this conference Maulana Madani vociferously declared terrorists as out of fold of Islam and said Islam abhorred terrorism.
February, 28, 2009: Anti terrorism global peace conference held now At Bhuvneshwar Orrisa. Besides fatwa against terrorism, the fatwa that India was not darul- harb was also issued.
March 21, 2009: Anti terrorism global peace conference at Azamgarh, where he said that those who fanned hatred between Muslims and Hindus must have been punished.
March 9, 2009: Attended India today conclave and spoke eloquently on the subject: what is the role of religion? In a response to Parvez Musharraf, former president of Pakistan, he warned him not to interfere in issues of Indian Muslims as they were capable of dealing with their problems. This brave answer won him great appreciation by all.
But he had to face rage form some quarters for while praising Dalai Lama he said, “If we follow him, it will mean a solution to 90 per cent of our current problems.” It was wrongly interpreted that Maulana Madani had given primacy to the Dalai Lama over our beloved Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), even though the Prophet was not at all in the picture and no comparison was being made
.June 15, 2009: Relief to victims of Aila cyclone in West Bengal, and providing shelters in more than 40 camps. Relief to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka flood victims also.
July 10, 2009: He met with defense Minister A.K. Antoney on the issue of spotting beard in army.
September 24, 2009: Eid millan get together held.
November 1, 2, 3, 2009: 30 the general session of Jamiat Ulama-i- Hind, where set of 24 resolutions including reservation for Muslims, social reforms etc passed.
Controversy broke out when JUH passed resolution against “vande mataram.”The protesters failed to realize that this song was against tenet of Islam and only Muslims were advised to not sing.
May, 3, 2010: Save the community and country movement (satyagarah) with demand of reservation and introduction of anti- communal bill started from Calcutta.
May 23, 2010: Jamiat delegation meeting with Prime Minister and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on the above- mentioned demands. In the wake of meet, the satyagrah movement was suspended.
August 5, 2010: Conference on challenges of compulsory education was organized at India international centre demanding amendments in RTE Act so that concerns of minority could be removed. Mr. Kapil Sibel promised in the conference to allay the apprehensions, delivering on his promise, he letter issued guidelines and is reported to working on the way to amendment.
September, 9 2010: In the wake of Allahabad court verdict regarding Babri Masjid, when contacted on phone by Hindustan Times reporter, he said the acceptance of the verdict would be in the largest interest of the Muslim community.
He received angry response from some sections of Muslim leaders though he had clarified that this was his personal view and final decision would be taken in JUH national meet. Situation worsened when he was blamed by some sections of media for meeting with RSS member Indresh in India Islamic cultural centre only to support RRS view on the issue. Finally the national executive of JUH in its meet on September 19, 2010 resolved: once a mosque is built according to the principle of Islamic sharia it remains a mosque forever. No forceful or coercive occupation can change the status of a mosque. Therefore the Muslims can never give up their claim to any part of the mosque which has been used as a mosque uninterruptedly for the last four hundred years. Muslims are duty bound to struggle for getting possession of the Babri mosque through peaceful and judicial process.
October 10 2011: Kashmir Conference held at Deoband to protest against violence on Kashmiris. He reiterated that Kashmir was an integral part of India and Kashmiris were our brothers.
October 23, 2010 (controversy) In his interview with Telhalka that got published in Tehelka Hindi and English editions, while reacting on Babri Masjid issue, he declared in Indian context, Gandhi ji as his second role model after prophet (SW). His statement sparked controversy. He was blamed for equating Gandhi with prophet SW. misconception widened due to some sections of media fuelled the controversy by unnecessarily drawing debates. Finally he had to issue clarification note stating that he had never meant to equate Gandi ji with the prophet nor could he ever imagine so. He also expressed his regret if such meaning came out of his statement.
October 31 2011: Grand Kashmir conference at Ram Lila Maidan New Delhi to bring the woes of Kashmiri people in the centre and to hold mass protest against injustice meted to them.
January, 7, 2011: Meeting with UPA Chairperson And Congress President Sonia Gandhi to remind her of promise of providing reservation for Muslims and for introducing communal violence bill. For the same purpose JUH delegation met with her and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on October 15, 2011 also.
January 28, 2011: Meeting with Kapil Sibel to ask him to include guidelines on RTE in the act by amending the same.
February 21: On the controversy of Darul Uloom’s rector, He said to the media, that only Shura had the final call. He warned third parties of not meddling with the issue.
March 1, 2011: Session court verdict on Godhra train burning case was challenged in Gujrat High Court by Jamiat. He vowed to fight for victims until justice was delivered.
March 17, 2011: In India Today conclave 2011 he at length spoke on the topic “has religion destabilized the subcontinent”.
April 28, 2011: Save the nation and community movement (satyagrah) was once again held in Lucknow to reiterate the demand for reservation for Muslims, introduction of communal violence bill and strong law for protection of waqf property.
August 2011: Relief to flood victims of Orissa and Bihar
2009, 10,11, 12: The Walsh School of Foreign Service Georgetown University and the royal Islamic strategic studies centre conferred him 36 ranks among the top 50 most influential Muslims of the world in 2009. His rank is now 41 in the list of 2011. Beside this, he spoke out against communal violence whenever there was any communal frenzy in the country. From parliament to streets he has without fear demanded to curb communal organizations and stressed need to bring in law fixing responsibly on administration for negligence of duty during communal violence. He has led efforts to provide relief after several natural disasters, in Gujarat and Kashmir after earthquakes, in tsunami-affected areas of the subcontinent, and during floods that regularly ravage Assam, orissa and Bihar. He is known to encourage education among Muslim women. Alongside, the 1964-born Maulana Madani is a respected theologian and politician. He believed to be true heir of Jamiat Ulama-i- Hind’s rich legacy. Maulana Madani was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2006, and has been a member on several committees: the Committee on Agriculture, the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment.
